What this paper is about

Edit What this paper is about Content
Individuals and organisations are operating in contexts that are not only changing rapidly but are increasingly complex and uncertain. With advancing climate change, enhanced health risks due to pandemics, increasing inequality and social strife, and depletion of vital resources, the world faces major challenges to securing a sustainable future. This paper explores economic, environmental, social and cultural aspects of sustainability and explores future-thinking processes to prepare citizens and leaders of today to reflect on and imagine sustainable futures for organisations and societies.

How this paper will be taught

Edit How this paper will be taught Content
This paper is run in interactive sessions involving mini-lectures, readings, group discussions, student seminars, and critical-thinking exercises. Students are expected to do the readings for the week before coming to class to optimise the quality of learning and the discussions. The readings can be accessed via a link provided on Moodle. The paper is available to students in a FLEXI format, which means that students can choose to attend the sessions in person on campus or via Zoom in real time. Given the interactive nature of the paper, the sessions will not normally be recorded and so, attendance and participation at all sessions is crucial to make the most of the paper.
